York University

Established in September 2025, the York University chapter represents a significant expansion of Muslims in Academia’s presence across the Greater Toronto Area. Since its founding, the chapter has focused on building a welcoming community where Muslim students and scholars can engage in meaningful dialogue, share knowledge, and support one another’s academic journeys. Through thoughtfully curated events, speaker sessions, and collaborative initiatives, the York chapter is developing into a hub for intellectual growth and mutual encouragement. With York’s diverse and interdisciplinary environment, this chapter plays a vital role in advancing MIA’s mission of uplifting Muslim academics across campuses.
